Andy Mapple made an announcement to the world at the Masters final night get together sharing with us his retirement from competition water skiing after a few more events.
There is little more that can be said about this water ski legend. I have known Andy since I first skied against him at Nottingham in England nearly 25 years ago.
Everybody will say good luck and to wish you all well.

The Chevrolet 45th Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament.
Well, told you Jaret was saving the big jump for the final, a new site record of 294 feet (89.6m) takes the top prize in ski flying from Freddy Krueger with 293ft (89.3m) and Jason Seels on 274ft (83.5m)
Mens slalom saw a change round from the prelims with Jamie Beauchesne out on top with 2@41off (10.25).
Mens Tricks Nicolas LeForestier scoring 11 570 points from Jimmy Siemers with 11 150 points.
Ladies slalom and jump scores down on yesterday, but still Emma Sheers took both titles.

Over at Spring Ranch the Spring Record Event saw 3 skiers complete the 10.75m pass (39 off). Eventual winner Ben Favret scoring 2 @ 10.25m and Jodi Fisher and Doug Ross both rounding 1 @ 10.25m.

Still Jaret keeps his 299 as the Mens Ski Fly results show that Freddy Krueger leads with 86.0m (282ft)
from Jaret Llewellyn very close behind saving it all for tomorrow with 85.3 (280ft), 3rd Jason Seels 84.4m and fresh from the Lake Tennessee Skifly and Masters Qualifier event success are 4th Kyle Eade 82.9m and 5th Mark Lane 81.4m.

Jump finalists for the Ladies are Emma Sheers with a massive 174f t (53.0m) from June Fladborg 162ft (49.4m) on her Stokes,
3rd is Jakalyn Hunter 47.5m, 4th Rhoni Barton USA 47.2m and 5th Jennifer Kaiser USA 46.9m.

The Chevrolet 45th Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament. Today saw the final of the junior event with golds spread all around the world. Preliminary rounds of all the other events under way in the after noon with these results in so far.
Ladies slalom Natalie Hamirick and Emma Sheers with 3.5@38 off (11.25m) tie for the top slot, third is Sarah Gatty-Saunt with 2@38 off.
In the Ladies trick event, very close at the top where Brigitte Letham leads with 7110 points from Regina Jaquess scoring 7010 points.
Young Will Asher is continuing his pro form with third place at the moment with 4 @ 10.75m (39 off); top 2 are Andy Mapple and Chris Parrish scoring 3 and 2.5 on the 10.25m line length (41 off).
In Mens tricks all the finalists scored over 10 000 points with Russell Gay 10 910 out in front from Jimmy Siemers 10 680 and Jaret Llewllyn 10 550.

Just a few days left now until the Chevrolet 45th Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament from Callaway in Pine Mountain, Georgia. By invitation the elite of world waterskiing will be there.

Sunset Cup from Jack Travers Sunset Lakes saw Emma Sheer continue to impress with outstanding performances.
In slalom Emma again ran The 11 metre line length to score 4.50 @ 10.75m. In the Jump event Emma put in a 181 feet jump (55.1m) this is only 4 feet off Elena Milakovas world record.
Mens tricks saw Nic Le Forestier again scoring high with 11 120 points.

Lake Tennessee Skifly and Masters Qualifier.
After the first 2 rounds the leader so far is Scot Ellis with 288 feet (87.8 metres), second place is Brit Jason Seels with a new British and European Record of 280 feet (85.3 metres).
Current world record holder Jaret Llewelyn is currently in fourth place with a second round jump of 265 feet.

McCormicks looks like the water to ski on this year! A massive 69.8m (229 feet) from Ryan Fitts to take the jump from Curtis Sheers with 68.3m (224 feet) at the Summer Starter. Sister Emma put in the longest ladies score of 52.9m (175 feet) and 3.50 @ 10.75m for the slalom as well.
In the mens slalom event Chris Parish ran 10.75m to score 4 on the 10.25m line length, must have felt like he was going to get a shot at the record! Thomas De Gaspar in second with 2 @ 10.25 and Jodi Fisher in third.
If that's not enough to impress you Frenchman Nic Le Foristier tricked an outstanding 11 470 points.

Today and tomorrow we have the first of the Ski Flying events for the year with the Lake Tennessee Skifly and Masters Qualifier. This will give them 3 rounds of jumping with the chance for the elite skiers to qualify to ski at the US Masters next weekend.
Other events this weekend include the Sunset Lakes Cup from Jack Travers Sunset lakes, where you should see that top slalom skiers in action. You will also get the chance to look round Sunset Landings, the latest lakeside development in Florida and the site of 2004 Junior World Championships & U.S. Waterski Team Trials.

Over at the Tri Lakes May Record event on the Sunday a good overall performance from Tom Asher including the longest jump of 210 feet (63.9m)

McCormicks Spring Open on Saturday 15th saw most of the top skiers compete in all three events over two rounds.
Winner of the slalom event was Glenn Campbell, but the best score of the day went to Chris Parrish with 1.50 buoys on the 10.25m line length. Ladies slalom went to Karen Truelove with an outstanding 3.00 @ 10.75m.
In the jump event Freddy Krueger and Brenda Baldwin set the longest distances with 227 feet (69.3m) and 168 feet (51.3m) respectively.

Big change around at British Water Ski. Long time ambassador to water skiing Gill Hill will retire this year as the Executive Officer of the Federation. Gills successor with be Gavin Kelly.
Gavin has played a big part in waterskiing over the years, most recently as the treasurer to BWS and as an international judge.

The Guanhao Cup 2004, The IWSF Asian and Australasian Water Ski and Wakeboarding Championships.

One two for New Zealand in the mens slalom final. Gold for Steve Cockeram one buoy ahead of Kyle Eade on 4.00@11.25m.
In the ladies Jump final, Kelly Bowen continues her dominance with another gold and a distance of 43.1 meters from Chinas Feng Mei with 41.3 meters.
Slightly less for Ryan Green in the trick final scoring 9759 but still holding on to get the gold from Kyle Eade scoring 8120.

The Guanhao Cup 2004, The IWSF Asian and Australasian Water Ski and Wakeboarding Championships.
After the first round of Tricks, both lists are topped by Australians with Ryan Green scoring 10 070 points, followed by Kyle Eade with 6680 points. Ladies trick has Kelly Bowen with 5260 from Xu Xinyuan from China with 5220.
The final results from the ladies slalom also put Kelly in top place.
