Two other record events this last weekend, the Ski Scape Spring Record on the Saturday saw Doug Ross win with a 3 @ 10.25m (41 off).
Sundays event at the Ski Ranch Spring Record saw Charles Mueller take the win with 3 @ 10.25m (41 off) and Doug in second with 2 this time.

The Chevy Trucks 44th Masters Waterski & Wakeboard Tournament Finals. It always seems to be that the old favourites make good in the end!
Mapple is the only skier to run 41 off (10.75m) to score 1@10.25m ahead of Jamie Beauchesne with 5@39 off (10.75m) and Chris Parrish scoring 2@39 off (10.75m)
Mens tricks was a close run final with 600 points separating the top 4. Top 2 spots went to Nicolas LeForestier topping all rounds and scoring 10,890 points just a side slide ahead of Cory Pickos with 10,820.
The bursting crowd at Robin lake were given an outstanding display of ski flying, showing that the skiers are still up for it with the hero of the day Jaret Llewellyn landing a best jump of 280 feet (85.3m), just in front of the inventor Scot Ellis 279 feet '(85.0m) and Freddy Krueger 277 feet (84.4m).
Emma Sheers is most definitely back and is stronger and better than before. Winning the ski flying by 10m with 212 feet (64.6m) and a winning slalom score and event record of 2@39 off (10.75m)

The Chevy Trucks 44th Masters Waterski & Wakeboard Tournament. Saturdays Elimination Rounds saw some steady results with Nicolas LeForestier scoring 11,710 points in the trick event.
Slalom was a close battle with all the finalists separated by 3 buoys Chris Parrish with 5@39 off (10.75m) leads Jeff Rodgers USA on 4@39 off (10.75m)
Ladies slalom produced the event record with joint top scorers Emma Sheers and Karen Truelove both on 2@39 off (10.75m)
Freddy Krueger maintains his control on jumping with 279 feet (85.1m) in the ski flying event.

At last the waiting ends with the 44th Masters Waterski & Wakeboard Tournament this weekend, May 23-25. From Callaway Gardens USA and $165,000 in prize money, The Masters is the biggest event in water skiing.
Already we have seen complaining on the net about the lack of overall and traditional jump. There is very little money available in the sport as it is, so any event that can raise this kind of cash gets my vote. Update throughout the event here.

Trick ski fans had a great display at the Sun Set Cup at Jack Travers with Aliaksei Zharhasek scoring 11,460 ahead of Nic Le Forestier on 11,300 points and Russell Gay on 10,310.
They also saw some outstanding jumping from the ladies with the top 3 all making 50m; they were Brenda Baldwin with 166 feet (50.6m), Tanya Niebuhr 166 feet (50.7m) and Jakalyn Hunter with 164 feet (50.0m)

2003 MasterCraft Pro WaterSki Championship from Charleston, South Carolina.
Natalie Hamrick wins the ladies slalom final and Andy Mapple takes first place in a close mens final just ahead of Jeff Rodgers.
Mens jump produced a close finish with the top 3 separated by four feet. Jimmy Siemers jumped 68.6m (225 feet) from Curtis Sheers 67.7m (222 feet) and Freddy Krueger 67.4m (221 feet)

2003 MasterCraft Pro WaterSki Championship from Charleston, South Carolina.
Jamie Beauchesne took round 1 with 3 @ 10.25m (41 off) and Andy Mapple the second with 2.5 @ 10.25m (41 off) putting both skiers in the 10 man final along with other high scorers Will Asher and Drew Ross.
In mens jump Freddy Krueger leads to group into the final with 66.8m (219 feet) in the first round and 68.6m (225 feet) in the second

Hard evidence that Emma Sheers is well on the way to a full recovery at the Australian National with a win in the ladies slalom scoring 4.50 @ 11.25m.

This weekend will see all the top skiers at the Swiss Ski School in Clermont, Florida for a record event. The next best thing to the world champs in a few months time. Full details from the event soon.
