6th June 2009 LA Night Jam - Prelims.

Perfect conditions continued for the mens prelims in bright sunshine and an amazing show by the best in the world. This was pro jumping at its best. Three skiers over 70m, 230 feet and they needed 66m plus to get in an eight man final.

Freddy left it till his last attempt to set 72.9m (239 ft) followed by Jaret Llewellyn with 70.3m (230 ft) and Jason Seels just behind with 70.2m (230 ft)

An impressive 68.1m from Zack Worden with Ryan Dodd, Tom Asher, Kyle Eade and Mark Lane the remaining four finalists.

The finals are going to be at around midnight time in Europe tonight.

6th June 2009 LA Night Jam - Prelims.

Great conditions for the LA Night Jam preliminary rounds. Ladies round has just finished with the top 3 ladies going into the night final being June Fladborg with 52.6m from Nancy Chardin with 51.4m and Angeliki Andriopoulou with 50.2m.

Mens event just getting under way.

25th May 2009 LA Night Jam.

With the Masters celebrations over, the jumpers move out to Bennetts in Zachary, Louisiana for the LA Night Jam on the 6th of June.

Under floodlights and under the control of top US Judge, Nikki Lee, Freddy Krueger will attempt to retain his title. Last year Freddy jumped 68.3m in the final. The reigning ladies champion is June Fladborg. Both are hot from wins at Callaway so will be strong favourites to win.

24th May 2009 SUNDAY FINALS - 50th US Masters.

Karina Nowlan continues her success after a run off with Jill Knutson by winning the ladies slalom final with 2.00 @ 11.25m.
In the mens event Will Asher was the clear winner scoring 2.00 @ 10.25m from Chris Parrish with 3.50 @ 10.75m. Chris Rossi and Jamie Beauchesne tied for the third spot.

Whitney McClintock took gold in the ladies trick final scoring 8250 points from Natalia Berdnikova with 8110. On a rare occasion when both Jaret Llewellyn and Nicolas LeForestier failed to reach the 9000 mark, Jimmy Siemers won the mens event with a massive 11590 from Oleg Deviatovski with 11040.

In ladies jump our friends from the US who persist in still using feet allowed June Fladborg and Marie Vympranietsova both to score 172 feet. This converts to 52.4 meters. As June jumped further in the first round, I suspect that this is the reason for her win.

No such confusion in mens jump as Freddy Krueger set 70.4m for Jason Seels to chase. Jason was unable maintain his first round lead, but did manage a 68.2m to secure second place.

23rd May 2009 SATURDAY LATE UPDATE - 50th US Masters.

Mens jump went ahead with Jason Seels and Freddy Krueger on top, both putting in a best jump of 68.0m (223 feet)

Zack Worden just missed out on his final place by a foot with 64.9m (213 feet)

23rd May 2009 SATURDAY - 50th US Masters.

Conditions were far from ideal today, but that's water skiing. Junior results I have so far show Slalom gold for Caroline Hensley with 2.00 @ 11.25m and KC Wilson scoring 4.00 @ 11.25m

In tricks the winners were Iris Cambray tricking 7670 points and Adam Pickos with 9580 points.

In the pro Masters Whitney McClintock leads the ladies slalom with 4.00 @ 11.25m from April Coble-Eller just behind on 3.00 @ 11.25m.
Chris Rossi with 3.00 @ 10.75m and Aaron Larkin on 5.50 @ 11.25m lead the men. Surprisingly the two world champions, Thomas Degasperi and Nicole Arthur, failed to make the cut for tomorrows final.

On form Clementine Lucine leads the ladies tricks with 7910 points from Whitney McClintock on 7810 points. Bizarrely there was a run of for the last spot in the final between Michale Briant and Rhoni Barton Bischoff both scoring 6930 points.

Again rough conditions saw a few early falls notably Angeliki Andriopoulou and Mandy Nightingale.
A fully recovered and fit Nicolas LeForestier leads the mens tricks with 11 040 points from Aliaksei Zharnasek with 10 970 points.
Nicolas looked well back in shape and capable of a further 1000 points for tomorrow.

Not certain at the moment, but I think mens jump has been put of till tomorrow, but we do have the ladies scores with the top two separated by a foot, June Fladborg with 164 ft (50.0m) and Marion Mathieu 163 ft (49.7m)

20th May 2009 50th US Masters.

Its cool at Callaway as the world prepares for the 50th Masters and we will have updates over the weekend.

Who is hot on the water at the moment, well I first saw Zack Worden in France at the World Juniors in 2006 when he jumped over 49m to win the gold. I knew he was going to be a star and Zack qualified for the Masters last week with 232 feet (70.7m). This news will be the talk of Pine Mountain, good luck Zack.

Also pleasing is to see Scot Ellis still in there, also qualifying last week with 230 feet (70.0m) Action starts on Friday with the Junior Masters with the pro semi-finals on Saturday.

11th May 2009 Ski Paradise.

This week end Clementine Lucine tricked 8930 points at Ski Paradise to give her another chance at landing the world record.

This record has been held by Mandy Nightingale for the last three years with 8740 points.

It is time for the World TC to give this record, however, if they do, it will be the first time in 25 years they have allowed a European lady to hold the trick record.

Some other noteworthy results recently include Karina Nolan at Stillwater Lakes Season Opener scoring 3.00 @ 10.75m and at the Champions Lake Slalom, Will Asher achieved 3.00 @ 10.25m

Some great scores going in, with the Masters only just over a week away.
